The National Commander of the American Legion, Denise Rohan, visited American Legion Post 98 in Coral Gables on Jan. 24, the first such visit by a current National Commander in decades.

Rohan of Wisconsin is the first female National Commander of the American Legion and was elected in 2017 during the 99th American Legion National Convention in Reno, NV.

The special meeting included Post 98 Commander Michael Pelton, Auxiliary president Nancy Casquarelli as well as other officers and members of the post.

Commander Rohan conversed with everyone and spread the word about programs and projects she is especially concerned with, saying she is committed to moving forward in the year ahead.
