Art Basel Miami 2016 visitors to Miami’s Wynwood Arts District will have new fashion, fragrance and artisanal food retailers to enjoy.
The Wynwood Arcade has announced that Please Don’t Tell and Osme Perfumery and Apothecary will be opening their doors in time for Art Basel. In addition, The Salty Donut, which has been operating a weekend pop-up shop at the Arcade, will be unveiling its permanent location and expanded hours the week of the international art fair.
“We are excited to welcome new and unique retailers to Wynwood Arcade just as all eyes will be on Wynwood for Art Basel,” said David Peretz, managing principal of East End Capital, developer of the Wynwood Arcade. “Please Don’t Tell, Osme, and The Salty Donut all embody the innovative character of the Wynwood neighborhood and will add to Wynwood Arcade’s urban community of artists, designers, and creative professionals.”
Please Don’t Tell has been operating as an online store since 2014, when fashion designer and blogger Carolina Benoit began offering curated global brands on the site. The Wynwood Arcade store will be its first brick-and-mortar location, offering fashion-forward pieces that are unique, well priced, and very fashionable.
Osme Perfumery and Apothecary is a destination for all fragrance lovers in South Florida, offering a curated collection of niche perfume lines from all around the world in a bespoke shopping environment. Shoppers can look forward to limited edition perfumes supplemented by a full line of home and apothecary products.
The Salty Donut is an artisanal donut shop and coffee bar focused on chef-made, small-batch craft donuts using nothing but the highest quality ingredients and making everything in house. The eatery has amassed a huge South Florida following, working out of its weekend pop-up location at Wynwood Arcade, but will open the doors to its permanent store and expanded hours to offer their famous donuts daily.
The Wynwood Arcade was converted from an industrial warehouse into an artistic retail and dining destination in July 2016 by developer East End Capital. Nearly fully leased, only three spaces remain available for at the Arcade.
Please Don’t Tell, Osme, and The Salty Donut will join Bonobos, artist-in-residence Shawn Kolodny and Patrizia Bozzi Design. Raphaella Booz, Bella Mia Gelato and Norman Van Aken’s anchor restaurant Three and cooking school In the Kitchen are all under way and will open in the coming months.
The Wynwood Arcade, 50 NW 24 St., consists of 25,000 square feet of retail and restaurant space and tailors to the thriving urban community of artists, designers, and edgy professionals. A cascading staircase will connect the center of the building to the rooftop which will feature a bar and inevitably become the community’s meeting point. The project’s space breaks down into a range of sizes starting at 750 square feet to fit the needs of independent retailers, specialty shops, and eateries.
