A new program is being introduced to assist businesses affected by the Miracle Mile and Giralda Avenue Streetscape Project that are within the project’s special assessment area.
City permit fees will be waived for all outdoor façade improvements, as well as improvements to the sidewalk pavers within private property along storefronts fronting or adjacent to the Streetscape Project. Businesses can take advantage of this new program, available only during the Streetscape construction period.
To help businesses, city staff will assist shop owners in completing paperwork and monitoring plan review and inspection processes.
Impact fees, taxes, special assessments and/or permit fees associated with other government entities will not be waived.
Paperwork required for this program includes:
• Two copies of signed and sealed engineering and architectural drawings (including structural calculations);
• Two copies of the Product Control Notice of Approval (NOA) from Miami Dade County or State of Florida;
• Floor plans and elevations should be drawn at minimum 1/4-inch = 1-foot scale, and
• Provide photographs of existing conditions for reference.
