Temple Judea in Coral Gables, one of Miami’s largest Reform congregations, celebrated the opening of the Frank Family Education Center on Oct. 14.

Some 150 people attended the event, including donors, members, and VIPs from the City of Coral Gables, plus teachers and students. Close to 300 students are enrolled in the Frank Education Center which includes children from the accredited Margaux Early Childhood School plus religious students.

“This is a dream come true for our entire family and the community. There is no greater pleasure in life than to help others,” said Howard Frank, Temple Judea member and donor.

The multi-million dollar Frank Family Education Center contains approximately 9,000 square feet of space in the education wing (now two stories) and houses the accredited Margaux Early Childhood School with nine classrooms and a multi-functional area. Existing classrooms were remodeled and new in-suite bathrooms were added. Outside, there is a new playground and new landscaping as well as an enhanced office/school entrance.

The project included relocated offices and further upgrades to security, access control and telecommunications including Wi-Fi. There is a new youth lounge with foosball, a conference room table with USB plug-in, adult learning center, children’s library, playground/patio and toddler playground.

Classrooms and the Young Lounge are equipped with Apple TVs and mobile iPads which enable Temple Judea to offer all its students state-of-the-art and age appropriate education which emphasizes “experiential learning.”

The construction was performed by Kaufman Lyn Construction and took approximately one year to complete.
