EDGE Charitable Foundation to host Green Masquerade Ball fundraiser

The EDGE (Early Development of Global Education) Charitable Foundation is hosting what may be the most spectacular event of the fall season, the Green Masquerade Ball, on Nov. 3.

The event offers those who attend a chance for fun and entertainment, as well as a way to raise money for a program benefiting 13,300 children in 10 countries, 40 percent of whom are here in South Florida.

Mercy Hernandez, a Cutler Bay resident and CEO/president of the EDGE, stresses the importance of the event to the organization’s ongoing work.

“This event is presently our largest source of fundraising, therefore its success is crucial to our mission and the impact we can make in our children’s lives,” she said.

Taking place at 7 p.m. in the Palm Room at the Palmetto Bay Village Center on Old Cutler Road for one night only, the “party with a purpose” offers guests a chance to dress up as their favorite characters for the Alice in Wonderland-themed ball or come out in their favorite Halloween costume.

There will be live performers throughout the night, an open bar, organic hookah lounge, two dance floors, photo ops, a silent auction, special guest speakers and lots of great food, which make it the best Halloween party in town.

Sponsors include Dripnatic Design, Parties by Pat, Group M, Arachan Productions Audio Visual (APAV), Community Newspapers, Ed Gallagher Photography, Allied Paper, AC’s Icee, Speedy Bacon Films, Dance Culture, DJ Southside Productions, DJ Johnny 5, Wendy’s Chocolate, Make up by Motives, Femfessionals, Shivanna Dance Company and others.

The EDGE is composed of educators, environmentalists and humanitarians, and their program serves children in Costa Rica, Guatemala, Haiti, India, Jamaica, Kenya, Nicaragua, Puerto Rico and the United States.

“The Green Masquerade Ball is very important to us as it highlights the important work the EDGE does right here in South Florida and abroad,” said Priya Nembhard, founder and vice president of The EDGE Charitable Foundation. “They impact many lives through environmental education and humanitarian services, including the children of migrant families in South Florida, and those who are victims of domestic abuse and human trafficking. Please support our efforts.”

Contact Mercy Hernandez at 305-298- 1763 or Priya Nembhard by email at Priya@theedgeeducation.com for tickets and sponsorship opportunities. Group VIP lounge tickets are available for those 21 and over to party.
