The 2015 Dodge Durango is somewhat in a league of its own. It’s not a crossover but it isn’t an off-road SUV either.

It’s definitely a very capable utility vehicle, as its name would suggest, but unlike what you would expect from a utility vehicle, it isn’t a rough ride, despite its rugged capabilities. While this vehicle may not be the first thing you think of when you consider which seven-seater you should get, the 2015 Dodge Durango should not be ignored.

One of the reasons why the Dodge Durango should be on the top of your list when considering a new SUV or crossover is because of how easy it is to maneuver. Unlike many vehicles of its kind, when sitting behind the wheel of the Durango, you don’t feel as though you’re driving an 18-wheeler.

In fact, the Durango is one of the sportier vehicles of its segment, thanks to its V8 engine, yet it is still should be capable of doing some off-roading. Surprisingly, the Durango also happens to be one of the more fuel efficient vehicles in it class, with city/highway mileage of 18/25 mpg, respectively.

Additionally, Dodge improved several of the Durango’s interior features from last year. It is more refined, modern, and boasts several standard tech features that come in handy. Features include an SD card slot, auxiliary and USB input, Bluetooth, and an intuitive 8.4-inch touchscreen display, which enables voice commands through Uconnect.

The next trim level, Limited, adds remote start, leather upholstery, emergency roadside assistance, an upgraded Uconnect system that includes speech-to-text, 3G WiFi and Internet radio capabilities. The exterior of the Durango also reflects that same sense of refinement with a slimmer grill and a newly sculpted hood.

In all of the 2015 Durango’s trim levels, its interior conveys a certain elegance that is not frequently found in other vehicles of its class. Dodge has made the Durango stand out against the competition with its interior that has a much more sophisticated feel to it than what you would expect from a large SUVlike vehicle. The Durango also features a fold-flat passenger seat, a reclining and 60/40 split folding second row.

It goes without saying that the Durango is very spacious and the seats are very comfortable making it perfect for large families. This is especially true for those with boats or trailers as the Durango has an 6,200- pound towing capacity.

The 2015 Dodge Durango is quite the competitor in its segment. As its name would suggest, the Durango is rugged and strong. However, Dodge has managed to make it stand out in the crowd by giving it an elegant look through its sleek interior and exterior design. Loaded with tech features, the Durango shows that brains can meet strength without compromising some of its selling points such as its impressive towing capacity, spaciousness and practicality.

The MSRP for the 2015 Dodge Durango starts at $30,495.
