Alliance Seminars, Expo at Free Zone, Feb. 24

The newly-created “Alliance to Promote International Trade” will welcome visitors to Miami Free Zone on Wednesday, February 24 by providing three free seminars to acquaint agencies and business organizations through the efforts of Florida Foreign Trade Association to foster international partners with Doral-based businesses.

Last May 15, FFTA held a meeting at the Miami Free Zone, 2305 NW 107th Avenue, introducing the Alliance concept with participant-organizations that include local chambers and both Doral business and South Florida trade-related organizations.

The Alliance offers agencies and organizations the opportunity to unite all efforts by sharing exposure and benefits from Alliance-related events while offering an ideal platform for members/clients to present their services and products to prospect customers, strengthen member services, fund raising, and other FFTA benefits..

At the Free Zone on February 24, FFTA hosts its “III International Trading After Hours Business Expo” from 3:30 to 9:30 p.m., highlighted by three complimentary seminar programs detailing Association and Free Zone benefits. The programs include:

3:30-4 p.m. “Why Doral?” by Ms. Bettina Rodriguez-Aguilera, Economic Development Coordinator for the City of Doral.

4-4:30 p.m. “Fundamentals of Free Trade Zones” with details on potential custom duties, fees and tax savings, by Arcelio Gerardo, General Manager, Miami Free Zone.

4:30-5 p.m. “Exporting in Challenging Times” by U. S. Commercial Services, U. S. Department of Commerce. Official opening ceremony for the Alliance Business Expo will follow from 5-9 p.m. with free general admission by presentation of business cards and appropriate identifications.

Table tops are available to business exhibitors to showcase their products and services to over 1000 attending business executives for $150 (member cost) and $175.00 (non-members). Parking is free with valet parking available.

Association members participating include Brazilian American Chamber of Commerce, Broward County COC , Cost a Rica-USA COC, Colombian American COC, Dominican Global COC, Doral COC, Trade-USA, Panamanian American COC, Enterprise Florida, Inc., Florida China COC, Florida Foreign Trade Association, Greater Miami Aviation, Miami Free Zone, Nicaraguan American COC, Florida Institute of Management, Latin COC of Miami Beach, Peruvian American COC of South Florida, Puerto Rican/Hispanic COC of Broward County, U.S.-Mexico COC Inter-American Chapter, U. S. Department of Commerce.
