What’s cooking? Now we know. Remember that cooking contest we told you about some weeks back, hosted by the Kiwanis Club of Little Havana and Winn-Dixie, called the Winn-Dixie Carnaval Miami Cooking Contest? Well, the results are in and in the finals held on Thursday, March 5 at the Winn-Dixie on Coral Way and 32nd Avenue, First Prize winners were chosen in three categories:

The Middle/High School Winner was Kristin McGrane of Robert Morgan Educational Center.

The Vocational Student Winner was Bianca Moise of South Dade Technical College.

The General Public Winner was Yana Yarosh of Aventura.

Each won $400 and all went head to head in the final round and the Judge’s Panel tallied the votes and selected Yana Yarosh as the Grand Prize winner of $1,000. Don’t you wish you entered, now? Yarosh’s winning recipe was for Super Juicy Meatloaf Mini’s.
