Cutler Bay’s fifth annual Founders Day celebration will take place on Saturday, Feb. 19, carrying forward a tradition that brings the town’s residents and public officials together for a day of fun and small town camaraderie.

The event once again will be at Cutler Ridge Park, located at 10100 SW 200 St., beginning at 11 a.m. and continuing until 3 p.m.

The family-oriented free event offers the usual outdoor cookout style food such as grilled chicken, hamburgers, hot dogs, potato salad, potato chips and watermelon, with sodas, punch, lemonade and water to drink. Avariety of delectable desserts are provided each year by the Whispering Pines Woman’s Club and the Cutler Ridge Woman’s Club.

The event also has entertainment, rides, games and face painting, and is capped off with the always popular Cutler Bay Food Fight. It’s a free-spirited event that draws a large crowd.

Founders Day honors the first official meeting of the Town Council on Feb. 6, 2006.

Also sponsoring the event this year are Sunstate Bank and Mercedes Benz of Cutler Bay.
