If you see this in time to attend, the next meeting of the Concerned Citizens of Cutler Bay takes place on Tuesday, April 1, 7:00 p.m. at the United Methodist Church of Cutler Ridge, 20740 Old Cutler Road, in Cutler Bay. At this meeting the group will recognize and honor the firefighters from Stations 34 and 55 with a presentation of Plaques of Appreciation. “In my opinion, our firefighters deserve this recognition for their service to our community. I hope that we can muster a good turnout to let them know we appreciate their commitment to our Town,” says Steve Zarzecki, Prez of the CCCB. On another topic, Jay Miranda, the Chief Administrative Officer of Jackson South Hospital will be the featured guest speaker.

Apologies for the inadvertent use of the wrong photo in the front page story in the last issue about the Town Hall Meeting about finding unclaimed funds held by the State of Florida. What should have been a picture of Cutler Bay Councilwoman Sue Ellen Loyzelle was actually a pic of a member of the Communities for Life Committee instead. The correct photo appeared in the ad for the meeting which also ran in that issue.

Featured trails pass through Miami- Dade County, Village of Key Biscayne, City of Miami, City of Coral Gables, Village of Pinecrest, Village of Palmetto Bay, and Town of Cutler Bay. Auto Break-Ins… The latest Palmetto Bay Police mentioned another vehicular burglary, and once again the car was left unlocked. There’s no point making it easier for thieves to steal your stuff, so lock it or lose it! Auto break-ins are a year round problem. Mark this on your calendars — the next Palmetto Bay regular Council Meeting is on Monday, April 7, at approximately 7:00 p.m. The meeting will be at the Village Hall Chambers, 9705 E. Hibiscus Street in Palmetto Bay.
New poles… FPL is replacing and upgrading existing transmission powerline poles through April to the end of May in the area from SW 67 Avenue west to SW 82 Avenue, and from SW 124 Street south to SW 148 Street.
The new poles are designed to be more “stormresilient” to better withstand Florida’s strong winds and extreme weather. While work is in progress there may be brief power interruptions, but most work will be performed on weekdays between 6 a.m. and 6 p.m. Portions of some roadways may be blocked periodically, but access to all neighborhoods will be maintained.
