Minnesota Corrections Commissioner Tom Roy has announced the selection of Eddie Miles as warden of the Minnesota Correctional Facility (MCF)-St. Cloud.

Miles was a football standout at Miami Springs Senior High. He graduated in 1986 and attended the University of Minnesota on a football scholarship. There he received a bachelor’s degree in sociology and youth studies.

Miles began working for the Minnesota Department of Corrections in 1992 as a corrections officer at Lino Lakes. In 1997, he became an investigator with the Office of Special Investigations, working at several facilities. Miles accepted a program director position at the MCF-Stillwater in 2005 and went on to serve as associate warden of operations. He has served as warden at MCF-Lino Lakes since 2009.

“Eddie Miles has demonstrated the high standards of leadership and expertise I expect of Minnesota wardens,” said Commissioner Roy. “I’m confident he’ll be ready to tackle challenges on day one.”

Miles’ appointment is effective March 2. He succeeds Patt Adair who is retiring.

St. Cloud is a close custody correctional facility for adult males committed to the commissioner of corrections. The facility serves as the department’s intake center. Current population is approximately 980.
