Dr. Linda D. Taylor, RN

Linda D. Taylor, PhD, MSN, BSN, BS, RN, has been named Dean of Nursing at Fortis College in Cutler Bay. A licensed nurse in Illinois and Wisconsin, as well as Florida, and with more than 30 years of experience in the nursing profession, Taylor brings a wealth of expertise and practical knowledge to her position.

Experienced in the delivery and administration of pre-licensure nursing education across multiple modalities, Taylor has successfully directed a number of nursing programs and courses, including five years as regional dean of nurses for two campuses; seven years in program development and oversight, and initial ACEN accreditation of new nursing programs.

Taylor joins Fortis College-Cutler Bay from Bellin College of Nursing/NWTC in Green Bay, WI. Prior to that, she was Founding Dean of Nursing at the College of Menominee Nation in Keshena, WI. A registered nurse (RN) since 1983, Taylor has worked in a variety of healthcare settings, from hospitals to private offices, and has served as a nursing professor and/or administrator for the past 15 years.

“We are pleased to have someone with Linda’s extensive practical and academic background join our faculty as Dean of Nursing,” said Denyse Antunes, Fortis College-Cutler Bay president. “We expect our Bachelor of Science in Nursing, Registered Nurse to BSN, and Associate Degree in Nursing programs will grow and get even stronger with her at the helm.”

Past president of the Wisconsin Center for Nursing Board, Leadership America Alumna, and Robert Woods Johnson Executive Nurse Fellow Alumna, Taylor is a published author on nursing who has led numerous presentations dealing with the profession.

She is a member of the National League for Nursing, National Coalition of Ethnic Minority Nurse Associations and National Alaska Native American Indian Nurses Association, and served as a reviewer for the Journal of Nursing Education and item writer for the NLN Nurse Educator Certification Exam.

Taylor received a PhD in Nursing from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, a master’s degree in Nursing from Northern Illinois University, bachelor’s degrees in Nursing and Psychology from Rockford College (IL), and an Associate Degree in Nursing from Triton College. Fortis College-Cutler Bay is specifically designed to be a premier nursing campus and has been offering BSN, RN to BSN, and ADN (RN) programs since 2013.
