Guido Clerk of the Year

Village Clerk Guido Inguanzo was recently named Florida’s Clerk of the Year. The award is presented by the Florida Association of City Clerks (FACC) and is given to a member whose accomplishments have made a significant contribution in raising the status of the profession. The criteria for being selected include leadership, community relations, involvement in the association and innovation.

FACC membership includes the municipal clerks from most of the state’s 400-plus municipalities. Each clerk is primarily responsible for providing support to their government’s legislative body, super-vising municipal elections and overseeing records management.

“His contributions of not only this past year, but of his almost 20-year career as a municipal clerk have been an asset for our profession and state association,” said Barbara Estep, the association’s presidentdesignate and the village clerk for Miami Shores.

Inguanzo became the Pinecrest clerk in 1996 with his appointment by the founding Village Council after serving in a similar position at Key Biscayne for four years. “I am blessed to be a part of a vibrant and wonderful community, and work for a very supportive and progressive mayor and Village Council,” said Inguanzo.

As Village clerk, Inguanzo has served in many roles during the past 14 years, including assisting in the formulation of the Village government, overseeing information/technology, administering the Village web site and fulfilling the routine duties of his office. The Village Council will recognize Inguanzo at the July 13 meeting when he will be presented with the Clerk of the Year award
