Jewish American History Month ‘Edit-a-thon’ at Jewish MuseumIn honor of Jewish American Heritage Month (JAHM) in May, Jewish Museum of Florida-FIU presented a special “Edit-a-thon” in partnership with the Miami Book Fair! The goal of the event was to edit and create Wikipedia pages about American Jewish authors, musicians, artists and other cultural influencers. Using the information and objects in the JMOF-FIU collection, participants uploaded details correcting and enhancing as many Wikipedia pages as possible. Students, scholars and writers attended and basic editing training was provided. Pictured at the event are (l-r) Caridad Aguilar-Scheinbaum and Mark Scheinbaum, Atelier 4; Jonathan Rose, program director, South Florida Writer’s Association; Nancy Doyle Cohen, membership director, JMOF-FIU; Veronika Pozmentier, docent, JMOF-FIU; Carmen Cunha, real estate broker, and Martin Kass, FIU graduate student in Library and Information Science.
