Miami Acting Company and the South Miami-Dade Cultural Arts Center, the recently inaugurated state-of-the-art performing arts facility often referred to as the mini-Arsht Center of the South, have teamed up to bring the S. Florida theater community the production, No Exit–the timeless masterpiece written by philosopher, novelist, critic, and playwright Jean-Paul Sartre. No Exit will be one of the first performances to take place in the black box theater of the new cultural arts center.
Director Manny Catalino, an avid admirer of Sartre’s compelling work, has attended numerous productions of No Exit in years past and while fascinated with the themes and entanglements of this character-driven existential play, he has yet to come across a production that vividly yet ever-so-cunningly exposes the blood stained strings binding the characters. It is precisely from this urge to seek answers that he chose No Exit to be the first production of MACs 2011/2012 season.
One of the main questions Mr. Catalino is adamant about highlighting is not necessarily whether the characters deserve to be in hell, but rather whey they deserve one another.
Cutler Bay and the surrounding communities hungry for great theater are highly encouraged to not miss this opportuinity to satisfy their craving.
