Miami-Dade Parks’ Marinas hosting free National Marina Day festivities

In celebration of National Marina Day on Saturday, June 11, the Miami-Dade County Parks, Recreation and Open Spaces department’s six public marinas will be hosting a variety of free activities that are designed to encourage boaters and non-boaters alike to get out on the water and enjoy boating.

Visitors will have an opportunity to meet with the marina managers and boaters and tour the marina facilities. In addition, other water and landside activities will take place at the various marinas:

National Marina Day began in 2001 as a grassroots effort of the Association of Marina Industries (AMI), a nonprofit membership organization dedicated exclusively to the marina industry. The intent is to introduce the public to boating through on-water and landside activities at marinas in every corner of the country. The type of event that each marina holds is unique, but has the purpose of celebrating boating as a fun-filled, affordable activity that anyone can enjoy.
