When the Natural Healing and Massage Center in Cutler Bay moved to a new location in the same shopping center near the end of 2013, with a fresh look and new décor, the business’s future seemed bright. Then two months after reopening, the facility suffered an electrical fire causing smoke damage so severe that it had to close until repairs were made.
Now the center is back in business and able to offer the same services as before. The family-friendly office, newly remodeled, is located at 20555 Old Cutler Rd. in the Old Cutler Towne Center, next to Chopsticks House Restaurant.
The center is run by Dr. Russell Rogg, Acupuncture Physician and Oriental Medical Doctor, and Dr. Carlos Gonzalez, a Chiropractic Physician.
“I am so excited about re-opening my office and getting back to healing,” Dr. Rogg said. “My family and I first opened our businesses in this shopping center 20 years ago. My wife runs the karate/fitness academy and my daughter recently opened the area’s only dance studio.
“We have faced many struggles this past year, including the road construction that kept people from visiting the shopping center,” he added. “Then as soon as we opened up the new office and got it decorated so nice, an electrical fire puts us out of business. But that’s all behind us now.”
In addition to acupuncture, chiropractic and massage, the Natural Healing and Massage Center offers herbal and homeopathic remedies, natural vitamins and food supplements, hot/cold packs, vitamin B injection therapy, electric stimulation and ultra sound therapy. The center also has laser acupuncture treatment in which no needles are used.
“Acupuncture is more than 5,000 years old,” Dr. Rogg said. “According to the World Health Organization, it has been proven effective in treating over 30 known diseases. It is used to relieve pain, aid in weight loss and even treat nicotine, alcohol and drug addiction. Acupuncture, Chiropractic and Massage offer pain relief for everything from neck and backaches to acute injuries resulting from auto accidents. Acupuncture treatments combined with vitamin injection therapy can help boost the immune system, aiding the body in fighting off harmful germs that cause illnesses like the flu and the common cold.”
Dr. Rogg said that migraine headaches often are caused by tight muscles, which can be helped by stress-reducing Shiatsu massage and trigger point therapy. He said it can help other problems as well.
“Many patients report that after a relaxing massage session they were able to sleep better, finally experiencing relief from long bouts of insomnia,” Dr. Rogg said. “Following an acupuncture and chiropractic session, some feel an increase in their energy level and feel invigorated and full of energy.
“We pride ourselves in understanding that everybody is different. Whatever your body is in need of, you can be sure that the staff of the Natural Healing and Massage Center will take the time to listen to you and provide you with the best individual treatment.”
The Natural Healing Center is open Monday through Friday from10 a.m. to 7 p.m., and on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. It’s normally closed on Sundays, but because they never want to turn away a patient in need, they offer Sunday and emergency appointments by request.
“The road construction is completed and our office is up and running,” Dr. Rogg said. “And I must say that Old Cutler Road is as beautiful as my new office. I hope folks will come back to the area and see all the improvements that have been made, and stop in and say ‘hi’ to me and Dr. G. and meet our wonderful staff.”
Dr. Rogg said that those calling to schedule appointments by Apr. 30 who mention Miami’s Community Newspapers will receive $25 off their first complete session.
