Cutler Bay residents who enjoy the town’s monthly Movie Night in an outdoor setting like an old-fashioned drive-in have one more chance before summer.
Lakes by the Bay Park will host the film on Friday, May 30, at 7 p.m. The movie this time will be Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2 from Sony Animation and Columbia Pictures, the sequel to the earlier feature- length cartoon about a science experiment gone awry in which food items take on a life of their own, which isn’t always friendly.
As usual, admission to the park and film is free. Seating is “casual,” which means you should bring your own lawn chairs and blankets for a picnic-style approach. Residents may bring their own snacks, but the Perrine Baseball and Softball Association will be selling concession food and drinks throughout the night.
Cutler Bay Parks and Recreation director Alan Ricke confirmed that this will be the final movie night until the fall because the hot weather and insects of the summer season prevent having these events.
Lakes by the Bay Park is located at 8551 SW 216 St. (roughly behind Whigham Elementary School). For information call the Parks and Recreation Department at 305-238-4166.
