Fans of Nuno Beira’s Italian cooking will be happy to know he has returned to Southland Mall after an absence of nine years. His new restaurant — Filipe Pizza, Pasta, Italian — is named for his son Filipe, who is getting a chance to learn the family business.
“I was the original owner of the Sal’s Italian Restaurant when it first opened 12 years ago,” Nuno said. “I owned it for three years; then I sold it. I had a great reputation when I was there. That’s why I’m back now. We have a full Italian menu, everything from brick oven pizza to fresh salad, veal, chicken, fresh seafood and sandwiches.”
Beira said he is pleased to be back at Southland Mall with his original family recipes and his dedication to great customer service.
“I always loved the area,” Nuno Beira said. “I loved it when I was there so when the opportunity came up that the location was available I jumped on it. We did a complete remodeling; the store looks nothing like it did before. The furniture, equipment, the kitchen, everything is new.”
Filipe Pizza, Pasta, Italian is located at 20505 S. Dixie Hwy., Space #1245, in Cutler Bay. Hours are Sunday-Thursday 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.; Friday-Saturday 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.
