Tomasina Beatriz Erickson, a resident of Pine Woods Villa, celebrated her 100th birthday on Jan. 9. She is reportedly the first centenarian of Cutler Bay.
Born in the Dominican Republic in 1911, Tomasina immigrated to the United States, became an American citizen and in 1995 moved from New York to Florida for retirement, choosing what is now the Town of Cutler Bay.
The community of Pine Woods Villa, located at 8420 SW 188 Terr., celebrated her special day with her family and friends and a big party.

“To be healthy in the next decade with all the members of my family and friends,” she said.
