Regional libraries, Main Library to be open additional hours

The Miami-Dade Public Library System (MDPLS) has announced that it has expanded its service schedule, effective Monday, Oct. 3.

As part of the Miami-Dade County FY 2016-17 Adopted Budget, six libraries — all five regional libraries and the Main Library — will be open additional hours.

The South Dade, North Dade, Miami Beach, West Dade and West End regional libraries will be open an additional eight hours per week while maintaining their seven-day per week service schedule.

The new hours of operation at these libraries will be: Monday-Thursday, 10 a.m.-8 p.m.; Friday-Sunday, 10 a.m.-6 p.m.

The Main Library will be open an additional two hours per week on Thursdays from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
