Two Palmer Trinity School juniors spent summer volunteering abroad
Adam Block and Sophia Sardinas spent time volunteering and playing with the local village children in Honduras.

Palmer Trinity School juniors Adam Block and Sophie Sardinas had a rewarding summer. The two students spent a week together in Las Mercedes, Honduras, assisting with medical practices.

Sardinas served as a translator for the only American doctor on the trip and Block worked in the field deworming livestock and rotated through the pharmacy helping fill prescriptions.

After spending the day working, Sardinas and Block played games with local children in the village. They also presented the principal of a local school with soccer balls, Frisbees and jump ropes as well as donations from the Palmer Trinity School Community.

Sardinas also was nominated for and attended the Hugh O’Brian Youth Leadership Forums — both state and national levels. She said the experience was life altering.

Block spent a day recently volunteering at SPANA in Marrakech, Morocco. SPANA, which stands for the Society for the Protection of Animals Abroad, is an organization that treats working animals around the world. Individuals with little to no money can bring their animals to be treated by volunteer veterinarians. The charity treats hundreds of thousands of donkeys, horses, mules, camels and livestock every year. He also collected and donated bandaging material that he presented to the veterinary team.

    Самое удивительное, что информация по ДМО присутствуют в открытом доступе, просто находили на эту информацию только случайные люди.
