Divine Savior Academy held its Inaugural Gala on Saturday, February 6th in the commons area of its new high school building. Over 170 were in attendance to support the night’s cause: raising money for the Academy’s next building project, the school’s 723 -seat Worship and Performing Arts Center.

Divine Savior’s gala began with a cocktail reception and silent auction, followed by dinner, a live auction program, and dancing. Divine Savior Academy parents, donors, and supporters mingled and bid on items while enjoying the black-tie optional evening.

“It was a wonderful evening, and we thank everyone involved: donors, parents, staff, and community supporters. While fundraising was one of our goals, the most important aspect of the evening was taking some time to celebrate and enjoy the blessings that God has showered on this school family and our community.” commented Ginger Poulos, Director of Advancement.

The evening’s proceeds will benefit the school’s next expansion and the cornerstone of its campus: the Divine Savior Worship and Performing Arts Center. The Center will provide theater seating for 723 people, a state-of-the-art stage, and professional sound and lighting equipment. This beautiful space will be used for chapel services, recitals, concerts, drama productions, and church services. It will give the school the space it needs to expand its music and drama department, as well as a space for families to meet for special events and worship.

“Divine Savior Academy exists because of the generous gifts of donors who gave to purchase land and construct our buildings. While tuition covers the cost of our operating expenses, it does not fund building projects or expansions. The generous support of our donors has made our campus grow and will continue to give the gift of an excellent education to students for years to come,” remarks Pastor Carlos Leyrer, Divine Savior Superintendent, “We are so excited for the future and for the opportunities this new space will bring our entire community.”

DSA’s next fundraising event is the school’s annual Shark Shootout Golf Tournament on May 4th at Trump National Doral.
