Celebrating Hispanic Heritage

Miami International Mall partnered with the City of Doral for the Tenth Annual Hispanic Heritage Celebration Sept. 28 from 1-7 p.m. with hundreds experiencing diverse cultures of more than 20 Central American, South American and Caribbean countries. Dancing, fashions, exhibits, arts and crafts exhibits highlighted the event with culinary treats and beverages by local restaurants and caterers. Special tickets for unlimited food and beverage samples and helped fund local charities and the Simon Youth Foundation. During the celebration, six Hispanic individuals received Hispanic Star awards: Ana M. DeMahy, educator; Javier Hernandez-Litchl, health professional; Jorge Luis Lopez, philanthropist; County Commissioner Jose ‘Pepe’ Diaz, community/business leader; Carlos Navarro, artist.
