Daisy Baez is running to be the next Florida State Representative for District 114. She emigrated from the Dominican Republic at the age of 17 and served in the U.S. Army where she earned several certificates of achievement.

With a B.S. in social work and a master’s in counseling education, Baez has served for the last 25 years in the healthcare industry. She serves as the Executive Director of the Dominican Health Care Association of Florida, and is on the board of the Merrick House Museum in Coral Gables.

Baez says she will stand up for a Florida in which education, healthcare, and living wages are accessible for all. She also believes Florida deserves a much more transparent government.

Baez was a Beacon Council Finalist Award for Dominican Health Care Association of Florida and received the 2012 Hispanic Heritage Star Award. She is President of the Democratic Hispanic Caucus of Miami-Dade; Miami-Dade Democratic Party Area vice chair; is a Miami-Dade Democratic Party committeewoman, Precinct #610; and was a delegate to the 2012 Democratic National Convention.
