City officials and administrators joined the project’s designer, architects and contractors to celebrate topping off of Doral Legacy Park, the city’s newest place to play and the greatest jewel in Doral’s crown of parks. The event marked the symbolic completion of the structural phase of the building.
The highly-anticipated park is on schedule for a fall 2016 grand opening and has even come in under budget during the first phase, resulting in the addition of a band shell and sitting wall in the civic area. Another achievement is the tax credit of half a million dollars the city received for properly handling the removal of old soil from the land.
Doral’s seventh park will house the city’s largest community center with an indoor basketball gymnasium, community/cultural room, conference room and much more in the 35,000 square foot space. The facility includes sports amenities for the community to enjoy soccer, tennis, softball, and football.
