Doral to compete with Miami Lakes in Mayor’s Basketball Classic Cup

Doral to compete with Miami Lakes in Mayor’s Basketball Classic CupCity of Doral Mayor Juan Carlos Bermudez will compete in the first ever charity Mayor’s Annual Basketball Classic Cup against Town of Miami Lakes Mayor Manny Cid. The highly anticipated and charitable game will be held between the mayors and staff from both municipalities at the new Doral Legacy Park, at 11400 NW 82nd St. Doral, on April 5 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:45 p.m.

“I am very excited to be coming together with my Doral family to play a friendly, yet competitive, game against my good friend, Mayor Manny Cid and his Town of Miami Lakes team,” said Mayor Bermudez. This event will be a fun-filled family event benefitting two important organizations that greatly give back to our communities.”

Miami Lakes Mayor Cid is also very excited to co-host this game. “Miami Lakes and Doral have a close bond,” he said. “Both cities incorporated around the same time and we now will be competing for a good cause.”

Mayor Cid also added, “Basketball is a good team sport and will be a great way to showcase importance of teamwork to success of municipal governance.”

All proceeds from ticket sales will be divided between the two participating municipalities. Doral will donate all its proceeds to the City of Doral Parks & Police 4 Kids Foundation, while the Town of Miami Lakes will direct funds to its Special Needs Advisory Board.
