With schools likely remaining closed for several more days, parents are invited to bring their kids to “Downtown Doral Gives Back,” a family-friendly Hurricane Irma relief fundraiser, Sept. 13-15 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day.
Free and open to the public, the event benefits The Miami Foundation’s Hurricane Relief Fund to which contributors may donate online. The fund will help organizations drive recovery and rebuilding efforts on the ground, in the aftermath of the storm that ravaged Florida the weekend of Sept. 9.
The family-fun fundraiser includes a DJ, water slide, bounce houses, basketball hoops, giveaways, and more. This will be a great way for children who may have had cabin fever during the hurricane to play outside and stretch their legs – as well as provide parents with a distraction from the stress of the hurricane.
Before or after the event, visitors may also enjoy bites at Pisco y Nazca Ceviche Gastrobar, Bulla Gastrobar, Dragonfly Izakaya & Fish Market, and Las Vegas Cuban Cuisine, as well as ice cream at Freddo, and leafy greens and more at Giardino’s Gourmet Salads. These establishments are all open and fully operating now at The Shops at Downtown Doral.
If residents also need a pick-me up, they can stop for coffee at Pasion del Cielo or grab their favorite alcoholic beverage at MEGA Premium Wine & Spirits. South Floridians without internet may also purchase a mobile hotspot at the AT&T store in Downtown Doral.
