Dr. Rosanna Lopez, psychiatrist and internist, has received top recognition from Hialeah Hospital as the 2017 Physician of the Year. Dr. Lopez exemplifies Hialeah Hospital’s mission statement, which is to provide safety, comfort, and excellence in customer service. She was nominated and selected by the hospital employees for this year’s award.
“Dr. Lopez is known for delivering high-quality care to our patients and we are proud to have her as part of the Hialeah Hospital family,” said Ben A. Dr. Lopez is the Director of the Behavioral Unit. She is also president of the hospital’s medical staff.
As graduate of the University of Central Del Este, San Pedro De Macoris, Dominican Republic, Dr. Lopez did her residency in general Psychiatry at New York Medical College. Her research experience includes hypertension, geriatrics patients with osteoporosis and osteoarthritis, and irritable bowel syndrome.
Dr. Lopez, has participated in several presentations on dealing with difficult families, osteoporosis, pain management in the elderly, Alzheimer’s dementia, Parkinson’s disease in the elderly, and depression in the elderly.
