‘Keys’ promotes understandingTogether with MDC Wolfson Campus President Jose A. Vicente (left) and Knight Foundation’s Director of Community and National Strategy Benjamin De La Peña (right), Miami Dade College (MDC) Honors College alumnus Binsen Gonzalez (center) unveiled City Astronaut Keys, his unique, interactive project/installation to bring communities together and promote kindness, tolerance and understanding. Created in partnership with 880 Cities, the Knight Foundation and Our City Thoughts, the project features nine hand-painted doors that will be installed at each MDC campus and its two centers. Everyone is invited to share a thought or advice on living a better life in Miami on pieces of paper, called Keys to the City, that will then be hung on golden hooks located on the backs of the doors so all can read and share positive thoughts. The project remains on display at MDC through February. Complete details available at
