Miss Universe highlights business in global economy

The Doral Business Council (DBC), the Business Force in Doral, proudly welcomed Miss Universe 2013-2014, GABRIELA ISLER, as keynote speaker for the first Signature Breakfast of 2015. The breakfast took place on Tuesday, January 13th at the Doral Intercontinental Hotel.

The event was attended by elected officials including Councilwoman of Doral Ana Rodriguez, former Councilwoman Bettina Rodriguez Aguilera, corporate leaders and business executives, as well as beauty representatives such as Miss Doral Valentina Esquivel and Miss Venezuela 2010 Vanessa Goncalvez.

Miss Universe took the opportunity to share with the audience her experience studying Business Administration and pursuing an MBA, and spoke about her vision as an entrepreneur to one day run her own business –recognizing the value of small and medium businesses in a global economy. Ms. Isler is the 7th Venezuelan to win the Miss Universe Pageant and feels at home in the Doral community.

The DBC recognizes and welcomed the visibility that the Miss Universe Pageant brought to Doral and South Florida. In over 130 countries, viewers observed Doral as a vibrant cosmopolitan meca of international trade, hospitality and development.

The newly elected Chairman of the DBC, Bruce Siddens, Jr., General Manager of Sam’s Club stated, “The Miss Universe Pageant has allowed the world to see what an epicenter of trade and commerce Doral has become. We will reap positive effects from this now and for years to come.”

The Doral Business Council was established in 2004 to advance business and foster economic development in Doral, Florida, promoting all facets of the business community. Today, Doral is the economic engine for job creation in South Florida.
