Palmetto General Hospital recently conducted a food drive to gather up canned food donations for food baskets to be delivered to Centro Mater, a 50-year-old nonprofit organization that provides early childhood education and social services to low income families.

The food baskets are to be divided among many families in need throughout the holiday season. Centro Mater has several locations in South Florida, including in Hialeah and Hialeah Gardens.

“We are so pleased to be able to participate in providing food baskets to the people in the community who need it most – so that they, too, may have a nice holiday season,” said Ana Mederos, Chief Executive Officer of Palmetto General Hospital.

Palmetto General Hospital is a 368 bed acute-care hospital located at 2001 West 68th Street in Hialeah, FL, part of Tenet Healthcare. The hospital has served the medical and healthcare needs of Northwest Miami-Dade and Southwest Broward for 45 years.
