Trump National DoralDonald J. Trump announced completion of the brand new Red Tiger golf course during a Jan. 13 press conference at Trump National Doral, joined by famed course designers Gil Hanse and Jim Wagner and 88 contestants of the 63rd Annual Miss Universe Pageant.

Trump christened the course with a 285- foot tee shot splitting the first fairway before more than 100 VIPs attending, including City of Doral Mayor Luigi Boria and members of the press.

Situated on over 800-acres in the heart of Miami, Trump has totally transformed and rebuilt the iconic Doral Golf Resort, investing over $350-million dollars. All four championship golf courses including the world renowned Blue Monster were rebuilt in the program.

The Red Tiger, set on 120 acres of contoured fairways over sand-based land, an incredibly unique and rare trait, challenges golfers with water hazards coming into play on 17 of the 18 holes.

The Red course received its name from the late TV comedian Jackie Gleason who loved golf and while based in Miami, got “beat up” so badly during a round on the same course dubbed it the “Red Tiger.’

The Trump family purchased the Trump National Doral Miami in June 2012 with the goal of a complete reimagining for 701 all-new deluxe guestrooms and suites across eight villas and eight restaurants and bars including the award winning BLT Prime and Champions Bar & Grill.

The Spa at Doral with 33 treatment rooms has also been relocated and redesigned.

The resort has been host of the PGA tour for more than 50 years and is annually home to the World Golf Championships- Cadillac Championships. For information visit www.trumpnationaldoral.com.
