Miami, FL – The Miami Marlins will kick off its Marlins Ayudan Week 2014 on Friday, February 7th with a visit to Key West for the Chas Freeman Memorial Preseason Classic, featuring Key West vs. Somerset Academy at Rex Weech Field.
The week of community engagement will continue throughout the week with visits to local schools, little leagues, senior centers and corporate partners, as well as a firehouse adoption, and several events at Marlins Park, including an RBI Clinic, a Marlins Partner School educational tour, and a Season Ticket Holder Batting Practice. Ayudan Week will culminate the following weekend with several events, including the T-Mobile Miami Marlins Winter Warm-Up at Marlins Park on Saturday, February 15th, as well as the Miami International Boat Show and the Coconut Grove Arts Festival on Sunday, February 16th.
Marlins Ayudan Week 2014 will engage the community through outreach events and one of the Marlins Foundation’s signature annual events, the Jack McKeon Marlins Celebrity Golf Classic taking place at Crandon Golf Course on February 12th. For the first time, the Marlins Celebrity Golf Classic will pay homage to former Marlins manager and 2003 World Series Champion, Jack McKeon. The week is highlighted by the T-Mobile Miami Marlins Winter Warm-Up on Saturday, February 15th. The Winter Warm Up is free and open to the public from 10 A.M. to 2 P.M. Fans can sit in and select their seats for the 2014 season through a variety of new season ticket plans, including Full Season, the 41-Game Weekend Plan, the 40-Game Business Plan, the 28-Game Weekend Plan, the 15-Game Saturday Plan and the 13-Game Sunday Plan. Also on sale for the first time will be the Jose’s Heroes Season Ticket Package, which features all 81 games in the new Jose’s Heroes section, plus six commemorative Jose’s Heroes t-shirts, K-Cards and an exclusive Meet & Greet with Jose at the end of the season, all for just $499. Single game tickets will also go on sale for the 2014 season beginning at 10 A.M. at the Marlins Park Ticket Office, and online at marlins.com and marlinsbeisbol.com. Plus, fans can enjoy a fun-filled day with player autograph stations, the T-Mobile Phone A Friend booth in which Marlins players will make phone calls to fans, live music and entertainment, live broadcasts from the Marlins’ flagship radio stations: 940 WINZ Miami’s Sports Station (English) and Radio Mambi 710AM (Spanish), a Sports Card and Memorabilia Show, ballpark food and beverages, and activities for the entire family. Also during the Winter Warm-Up, there will be a game played on the field by children from the Miracle League beginning at 10:00 a.m. In addition, all current Season Ticket Holders and Group Leaders will be invited to exclusive events, including a private autograph session and a special Chalk Talk session with President of Baseball Operations, Michael Hill and VP/General Manager, Dan Jennings.
