The U.S. Small Business Administration South Florida District Office, AARP, and the Miami SCORE Chapter are working together to host a National Encore Entrepreneur Mentor Month event in Ft. Lauderdale on April 24, 2013. The event will connect aspiring entrepreneurs over the age of 50 who want to start or grow a small business with an experienced business mentor from the Miami SCORE Chapter.
National Encore Entrepreneur Mentor Day is a result of SBA’s national strategic alliance with AARP announced in May 2012. Through SBA’s nationwide network of business mentors and counselors, the two organizations expect to train 100,000 “encore entrepreneurs,” men and women over 50 who are starting or running a small business.
At the events in South Florida, counselors from SCORE will offer advice and tips for participants who will also be able to sign up to receive on-going free mentoring.
