The MIT Enterprise Forum of South Florida (MITEF) and the University of Miami Life Science & Technology Park will present a business education program with a panel discussion titled, “South Beach to Silicon Beach?” Expert panelists, including thought leaders from academia, government, finance, and tech entrepreneurs, will provide their perspectives on the recent growth in high growth technology entrepreneurship in South Florida. South Florida prides itself in entrepreneurship, a region powered by micro-businesses and driven by real estate and tourism. However, technology entrepreneurship has yet to create a robust innovation ecosystem. The panel discussion aims to answer “can South Florida ignite an innovation ecosystem?” The event takes place from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday, October 15, 2013 at University of Miami Life Science & Technology Park, 1951 NW 7th Avenue, Miami, Florida 33136. The event is open to the public and ticket prices cost $30.
