Teatro Prometeo at Miami Dade College, the only Academy of Performing Arts in Spanish in the country, presents Cyrano Mio, a new adaptation by Cristina Rebull and Ileana Prieto of the acclaimed play Cyrano de Bergerac, on September 20, 21, 27 and 28, 2013, as part of Hispanic Heritage month celebrations; with graduates of Prometeo’s Conservatory in Theater Arts, Claudia Quesada, Diego Moreno, Lisset Riera, Luis Fuentes, Luis Martinez and Pablo Guillen. After these performances, the troupe will take Cyrano Mio to New York and other cities.
A tragic love story told through Roxana’s eyes, where Cyrano, a brilliant and disfigured man, falls in love with the beautiful Roxana. Meanwhile, Roxana has fallen for the handsome soldier, Cristian, believing his beauty is equal to his eloquence. Their lives become intertwined as Cyrano provides the desperate Cristian with letters to court Roxana. Roxana embarks on a journey of memories filled with the excitement of love at first sight, and tinged with the regret that she was unable to see Cyrano’s sublime heart.
