The internationally-acclaimed U.S. Naval Academy Women’s Glee Club will appear in concert on Sunday, January 20, 2013 in Coral Gables, FL as part of their Martin Luther King weekend tour to South Florida.
The concert will be held at St. Thomas Episcopal Church, located at 5690 Kendall Drive, Coral Gables, FL 33156. No tickets are required and doors open for the concert at 7:30 p.m.
The Naval Academy Women’s Glee Club, under the direction of Ms. Cindy Bauchspies regularly travels around the country, representing the NavalAcademy and the naval service. The Glee Club has received national acclaim for public appearances across the nation and most recently on a national television broadcast of the annual “Christmas in Washington” presentation, along with the USNA Men’s Glee Club. A 10-day visit to Brazil in 2010 earned international acclaim from ambassadors and state department officials.
Glee Club Director, Cindy Bauchspies states: “We are excited about the opportunity to perform at St. Thomas Episcopal Church as part of our Martin Luther King Weekend Tour in the Miami area. It is a great venue and we look forward to bringing the gift of music to the community with this concert.
In addition to the concert at St. Thomas Episcopal Church, the Women’s Glee Club will be featured at a Martin Luther King Weekend Ceremony on Sunday afternoon at 3:00 p.m. at Coconut Grove’s Virrick Park, 3255 Plaza Street in Miami. The Coconut Grove event is sponsored by City of Miami Commissioner Marc D. Sarnoff. The Glee Club will also visit Westminister Christian School and Gulliver Prep High School to perform for student assembly programs.
