The Gardens Gallery welcomes artist Rosie Levine in exhibition

“Rhythm in the Jungle”
Opening June 23 from 6-8 p.m.
Rosario Levine has lived and studied most of her life in the US and frequently returns to her native Colombia. Her professional career started as editor-in-chief of a Spanish-language teen magazine. She then ran Blue Mango Creative, a design and marketing outfit, she founded and edited Miami Health Letter and Miami Health Letter en español and during this flurry of activity raised two wonderful boys while painting and developing her ceramic sculptures. She is now dedicated nearly full time to the arts, with the exception of her love of gardening. She has recently begun to exhibit her work (The All Florida Show, Border’s Art Gallery, Williams Island, Space 104 Installation Art Exhibit in the Miami Design District, Everglades National Park and Deering Estate). She has sold a number of paintings and ceramic sculptures to Florida collectors. Rosie is married to Barry Levine, a founding professor of FIU.

Rosario’s show running June 23 through August 23 is entitled “Rhythm in the Jungle.” Her flights of fancy celebrate the exuberance of life and the intoxicating sensuousness of nature. Illusion and reality intermingle happily in her diverse microcosms, but it is color, fluidity, and repetition that give her work its complex energy. While she attains a balanced cohesiveness within her rhythmic panoramas, it is the duality of the “bounded” yet “unbounded” forms that captures her imagination as she seeks possibilities of change and chance. Ultimately, she strives to make the world a little happier by transforming life’s confusing journey into brilliant displays of hope and interconnected joy. At the opening, she will also have examples of her ceramic sculptures: Moments in a Series of Ripples. Join us at the exhibit’s opening on Thursday evening, June 23 from 6-8 p.m.
