Hyundai Elantra gets new look, engines, tech featuresThe Hyundai Elantra has been fully redesigned for 2017.

This year, the Elantra gets a fresh new look, two new engines and a great list of impressive tech features. The inside, which is much refined, is one of the Elantra’s biggest selling points this year. This year’s Elantra comes in four trim options: SE, Eco, Limited and Sport.

We were able to test drive the Limited.

Inside the Elantra, you will find a quiet cabin that is largely free of wind noise and vibration, even when zooming down the highway. This is, in part, thanks to its tires which keep out a lot of harshness from the cabin. Not only is the ride exceptionally quiet, but it also provides very comfortable seating with above average roomminess.

Most trim levels come with cloth upholstery and optional power adjusting. Even when you opt out of the power adjusting, the seats are very supportive. The standard cloth upholstery is comfortable and, like the rest of the materials used throughout the cabin, of high quality.

As it is roomy, there is no shortage of cupholders or other compartments in the Elantra. You will find 14.4 cubic feet of storage space in the trunk, putting the 2017 Elantra at the top of its class for storage space. Split and folding rear seats give you added flexibility. Its interior design is modern and bears several technology features.

Some features include: 7-inch touchscreen display, Bluelink connected car system, proximity key with push button start, handsfree smart trunk, Bluetooth, steering wheel mounted audio and cruise control, Andriod Auto and Apple Carplay, and of course dual USB charging ports.

Taken together, the quality materials, attractive design and roominess make the 2017 Elantra’s interior one of its biggest selling points. A close second to the interior is its sleek exterior.

As previously mentioned, the 2017 Hyundai Elantra has been fully redesigned. The exterior is now much more modern, with a low stance, tapered body and wide grill framed by HID headlights. The Elantra’s low hood and thin windshield pillars gives great forward visibility. Large side windows allow for equally great visibility throughout. Of course, there’s always the rearview camera.

As for the 2017 Hyundai Elantra’s performance, its controls are well- weighted and very responsive. The Elantra rides stiffly and corners confidently, zips down the highway and is well grounded, even on tough pavement. Its breaks perform well with a good pedal feel. Stoping power is easy to gauge.

The Elantra’s smooth ride is powered by the two optional engines. You can choose from a 147-hp 2.0-liter with a six-speed automatic which is the standard engine. This features a 1.4-liter turbo and seven-speed dual-clutch automatic as the Eco option. A six-speed manual also is available on the base SE.

The 2017 Hyundai Elantra has undergone a huge makeover. Outside, it is much more modern and sleek than in previous years. However, the Elantra’s biggest selling point is its interior which is roomy, attractive and boasts a long list of tech features. The 2017 Hyundai Elantra is a big competitor among affordable sedans.

The MSRP for the 2017 Hyundai Elantra starts at $17,150.
