Seventy five associates from Keller Williams Realty Premier Properties in Kendall chose to “Give Where They Live” as part of RED Day, Keller Williams’ annual day of service on Thursday, May 12. They spend this special day renewing, energizing and donating at Miami Rescue Mission.
As part of the RED Day effort, employees spent the day preparing “Mission Hope” bags filled with hygiene products, preparing and serving food, writing personal cards to residents and guests of the centers, and painting and remodeling a cafeteria, and much more. Additionally, they blessed the organization with a large box filled to the brim with hygiene products and 1,178 pounds of clothes (over 800 items).
“Keller Williams has and continues to be an amazing partner,” said Marilyn Brummitt, Community Development director of Miami Rescue Mission/Broward Outreach Centers. “We are proud to call them part of the family and truly appreciate their kind and compassionate spirits when on campus.
“It’s so important for the men, women, and children residing in our centers to see members of the community giving back,” she said. “It reminds them they are loved, but also plants a seed in them to give back to the community both while they are residents with us, and when they leave us to transition back into society.”
Since the first RED Day in 2009, Keller Williams associates have given hundreds of thousands of hours of community service through activities ranging from food and blood drives to rebuilding homes and schools for community members in need.
