The Humane Society is a private, non-profit organization dedicated to placing every dog and cat in its care into loving homes, and to promoting responsible pet ownership and spay/neuter programs. Last year alone, the organization connected more than 3,300 homeless pets with forever families and served more than 16,000 pets through its preventive clinics. Since the devastating hurricane touched down on Florida, however, the organization was forced to close the doors to its adoption center, clinics, grooming center and boutique for over three weeks.

The Petco Foundation investment will help the Humane Society of Greater Miami recover from losses and damages caused by the destructive storm including roof leaks, air conditioning damage, property damage and losses associated with extended downtime. “We could not be more appreciative of this much-needed help from the Petco Foundation,” says Humane Society Executive Director, Laurie Hoffman. “This grant illuminates a light of hope at the end of this very long tunnel as we try to get back to normal after being closed for more than three weeks.”
