Nearly 150 art enthusiasts and socialites attended an invitation-only cocktail reception and fashion show to celebrate the opening of legendary Spanish artist Antonio Dominguez de Haro’s first art gallery in the U.S. on the seventh floor of the luxurious Four Seasons Hotel Miami, 1435 Brickell Ave.

During the elegant soiree on May 5, Dominguez de Haro’s daughter, Isabel, and son, Tony, warmly greeted guests, who enjoyed a private preview of the artist’s majestic underwater paintings. Additionally, local fashion designer Mayda Cisneros showcased her stunning couture collection at the event.

The new Antonio Dominguez de Haro art gallery is now open to the public and artwork is available for purchase.

Heralded as a national treasure of Spain, with an avenue and soon-to-be built museum named for him in Granada, Dominguez de Haro has been painting for over 70 years, capturing the beauty and lyricism of the flora and fauna of the deep seas — giving a fantastic glimpse into the mysterious world under water.

Previous to his new gallery and permanent art installation, Dominguez de Haro exhibited his multi-million dollar collection at the AAA Five-Diamond Brickell hotel during Art Basel. Two of his oversized paintings currently grace the hotel’s lobby leading into the entrance of the art gallery, transporting guests and visitors alike to the bottom of the sea where the artist used to scuba dive as a child and into the depths of his own inner-psyche.
