On July 22 during a traffic enforcement detail on SW 87th Avenue near the Snapper Creek (SR 878) Expressway, Officer Capote stopped an automobile that ran a red light at 1:30 a.m. After checking the driver’s identification, Capote noticed a suspicious odor and discovered a three-pound bag of marijuana on the car’s back seat. He then opened the trunk to discover a nylon lunch bag with $1,647 in cash. Entering the detained driver’s home, officers then found 39 marijuana plants weighing 167 pounds with a street value estimate of one-half million dollars.
