Archimedean Schools set record during annual fundraising event

More than 3,000 guests celebrate Greek culture at the Archimedean Schools’ annual Greek Night festivities, which raised $35,000 to updgrade the charter schools’ technology resources.

The Archimedean Schools, self-managed K through 12 public-charter schools in Kendall, recently announced they set attendance and fundraising records during their ninth annual Greek Night festivities.

More than 3,000 guests gathered on the schools’ 14.5-acre West Kendall campus to celebrate Greek heritage through music, food and dance while raising funds to improve the schools’ technological resources. By the end of the evening, the schools raised a record $35,000, which will be used to update their wireless infrastructure and purchase computers for student use.

“I commend our faculty, staff, students and volunteer parents and board members for making this year’s event a tremendous success,” said Dr. George Kafkoulis, president and chair of the Archimedean Schools. “As non-profit, tuition-free schools, we rely on these fundraisers to help us continue performing at the highest levels and maintaining equally high standards of education to ensure our students’ ongoing success.”

The Archimedean Schools are an independently managed, feeder patterned K-12 public-charter school system founded in 2002 by Archimedean Academy Inc., a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization.

Sponsored by Miami-Dade County Public Schools, the Archimedean Schools consist of three high-performing conservatories focused on mathematics and the Greek language: Archimedean Academy (grades K-5) and Archimedean Middle Conservatory (grades 6-8), both of which are nationally recognized as Blue Ribbon schools; and the AdvancED SAC-CASI Accredited Archimedean Upper Conservatory.

Serving more than 1,000 multicultural, multilingual students, the Archimedean Schools have ranked consistently among the top-performing schools in the county, the state of Florida and the country.
