In all, more than 35 electives, honors courses, and more than twenty Advanced Placement (AP) courses including AP Capstone are offered. Belen Jesuit is one of only 362 schools in the country participating in the AP Capstone Program. The school also has a robotics program and courses in art, music, and theatre. Our classes vary from Latin American History to Anatomy and Physiology to Mandarin to Philosophy. Our athletics program is comprised of 49 teams in 15 sports.

“Belen Jesuit strives to educate our young men in the Jesuit tradition. Since 1854 we have instilled in our students three core values summarized in the Latin phrases –Ad Majorem Dei Gloriam, Cura Personalis and Magis,” said School Principal Jose E. Roca. “Our students, teachers, counselors, staff, coaches, and administrators place these core values into daily action.”

Belen Jesuit admits students without regard to race, religion, color, national or ethnic origin. As a Catholic college preparatory school in the Jesuit tradition, Belen Jesuit actively seeks a student body that represents a broad and diverse variety of abilities, talents, backgrounds and interests.

The Jesuits founded Belen Jesuit Preparatory School in 1854 in Havana, Cuba.  In 1961, Belen and all private schools were confiscated by the new political regime. The School was re-established in Miami that same year and has grown over the last five decades. Currently, the enrollment is nearly 1,500 male students in grades 6 to 12 and has over 6-thousand alumni. Belen Jesuit is one of the state’s best college preparatory schools and has annually been ranked as one of the nation’s top 50 Catholic high schools by The Cardinal Newman Society.
