Although the 2017 Cadillac Escalade has maintained the look that has allowed it to be one of the most iconic luxury SUVs, this year does include a few changes.

At first glance, you’ll notice the Escalade’s angular, modernized fascia with all-new LED lighting throughout. The latter is an new feature of Cadillac and results in a very elegant and modern appearance.

There is no question that the Escalade has always had an undeniable presence on the road (and potentially in your driveway), but this year’s Escalade tops the charts in luxury, capability and style. If there is one word to describe the Escalade, it would be “opulent.”

The Escalade looks and presents itself as well as it feels and performs. Inside the Escalade, you’ll not only find an impressive list of features, but you also will find it to be beautifully crafted — from its leather-wrapped instruments to its wood inlay accents.

Available in four trims to choose from — Base, Luxury, Premium Luxury, and Platinum — the 2017 Escalade can go from fairly average to outstanding. We were lucky enough to test drive the trim-topping Platinum which has a wide array of impressive features.

The features include but are not limited to: wireless charging, 16-speaker Bose system, front seat chair massagers, semi- aniline leather, illuminating door handles, Cadillac CUE system with eight-inch color display, Apple Carplay and Android Auto Capability, teen driver mode, hands-free power lift gate and theft deterrent package.

A notable new feature for 2017 is the Escalade’s rearview mirror that is much more than what it seems. It it is actually a high-resolution screen for a camera mounted to the Escalade’s tailgate. Cadillac fitted the Escalade with this unique feature to reduce blind spots — and it works. The faux rearview mirror definitely give the driver more visual range than a traditional mirror would be able to.

However, do not let all of the Escalade’s blinged-out bells and whistles fool you. At its heart the Escalade is still a powerful and capable ride.

The 2017 Escalade is fitted with a 6.2L V8 engine with an impressive 420 horsepower with 460 pound-feet of torque and a massive towing capacity about 8,200 pounds. Also worth mentioning is that this nearly 6,000-pound beast can reach 60 mph in only 6 seconds. Quite the impressive feat for an SUV of the Escalade’s stature.

The 2017 Cadillac Escalade has a combined fuel economy of 17 mpg. As far as safety, the Escalade has received a 5-out-of-5 side-impact crash rating as well as 3-out-of-5 stars in rollovers from government testing.

For a big bold luxurious ride, Cadillac’s Escalade always has been the go-to SUV. While available in four trims, the highest trim, Platinum has a very impressive array of technology and comfort features ranging from smartphone syncing to front row massage chairs.

For 2017, Cadillac continues setting the standard for luxury SUVs with its revised Escalade. This year’s Escalade, as its predecessors have, will turn heads wherever it prowls.

The MSRP for the 2017 Escalade Platinum is $92,195.

  1. IF THE ESCALADE WANTS TO COMPETE WITH THE BEST IT “”” MUST “”” USE AN AIR SUSPENSION IN ALL CORNERS!!! CURRENTLY IT USES CHEAP SPRINGS AND MAGNETIC SHOCK ABSORBERS. THIS IS NOT A CORVETTE ITS A LUXURY SUV! MERCEDES, BMW, LINCOLN, JEEP, LAND ROVER LEXUS, AND INFINITY ALL USE AIR SUSPENSIONS!

THE ESCALADE TOO MUCH A CHEAP SUBURBAN UNDER THE PLASTIC COVERED DASHBOARD! GET RID OF ALL THE HARD PLASTIC AND ADD SOME ALUMINUM AND POLISHED STAINLESS!!!! TAKE A LOOK AT RANGE ROVER AND LEARN!!!

THE FINISHES IN THE ESCALADE ARE SO CHEAP!! LOOK AT THE CARPET WHERE THE SECOND ROW MEETS THE THIRD ROW!!! ITS A MESS, YOU CAN TRIP!! VERY CHEAP!

GET A DIESEL ENGINE LIKE THE TD6 LAND ROVER 29 MPG’S!!!
