Kendall Regional Medical Center again hosted its annual Valentine’s community event for children and their families on Saturday, February 8th. The goal of this annual event is to promote heart healthy living to both children and their families.
Children also had the opportunity to bring their teddy bears to get a health check-up at the Teddy Bear Clinic, which was staffed by the hospital’s Women and Children’s Services team. Additionally, children made Valentine’s crafts and enjoyed a variety of entertainment such as pony rides, petting zoo, and bounce houses. Also, there were plenty of Valentine’s sweets provided for all.
A favorite part of this year’s event was the pretend surgery area, where children were able to dress up as surgeons with personally decorated surgical caps and masks that they made Valentine’s drawings on. This play area was sponsored by the hospital Robotic Surgery Program staff.
This year’s event included the addition of a Farmer’s Market that had many local produce growers with heart healthy items.

The hospital will be offering another community event in May, as it hosts the 2nd Annual Super Hero Safety Fair.
