In an effort to maintain the aesthetics in the community, Miami-Dade Commissioner Joe A. Martinez and the Miami-Dade Police Department’s Explorers joined forces to combat graffiti in District 11 with a series of paint-outs in the West Kendall area.

The first paint-out took place along SW 47th Street between 142nd and 147th avenues on July 30.

“My office has observed an increase in the amount of graffiti in the district,” Commissioner Martinez said. “Since kids are out of school for the summer, we are receiving some great assistance from the Police Department’s Explorers who have painted over the graffiti and beautified the community.”
