County employees donate to victims of Pulse shooting

Miami-Dade County is sending a check for $13,696.06 to the OneOrlando Fund, which benefits the victims and family members of the Pulse Nightclub shooting in Orlando

Miami-Dade County employees contributed their unused annual and holiday leave time to the fund after Commissioner Levine Cava sponsored resolution (find at www.miamidade.gov/govaction/matter.asp?matter=161476&file=true&yearFolder=Y2016) authorizing the donations from employees in June.

Commissioner Levine Cava joined SAVE Dade at the Oct. 5 county commission meeting to recognize the county’s contribution the OneOrlando Fund.

“This is a clear sign of solidarity from our community with Orlando,” Commissioner Levine Cava said. “I am impressed with the generosity of our county employees who stepped up in a time of need.”
